This week end wasn't shaping up to be much for shooting, so I thought I'd hang around the house, get a few chores done, but mainly relax. Round about 3:30 I couldn't stand it any more, grabbed my gear and headed for the Blue Ridge Parkway. At least it would be cooler up there. Since there were more clouds than had been predicted, my destination was the firetower on Fryingpan Mountain. I was hoping for some late day sun rays from behind the clouds, then possibly a nice sunset.

While walking up the road, I met another guy with camera gear and it turned out to be someone from the Carolina Adventures Yahoo group we are both members of. He was up from Fayetteville and decided to join me on the tower. This is one of the 1st images I took around 6pm. So far I was getting the rays I had hoped for.
