Hi, I am Vishwanath a PhD student in Biochemistry at the university of Notre dame, Indiana, USA and I am native to Mysore. I have seen your pictures in PBase. You have taken gorgeously clear pictures. You scanned pictures from Nikon F100 and which scanner do you use? These scanned images are clear than digital camera images! Are you a professional photogrpher or it's your hobby? How long have been the photographer? It's my hobby and am into photography from last three months. I own a Nikon D300 and a Nikon F100. I was wondering if you can offer me some tips to improve my photography. All those images I saw in the internet(yours and other iamges) are wonderful but mine are dull and very soft. I have no idea what's going wrong there. I understand that you are busy but please take you own time and respond to me. I appreciate your repsponse to this email. Regards vishwanath

Hi Vinay, I know you are extremely busy, however looks like you must respond here. Im an Artist from BHUTAN, I live here in THIMPHU. I saw your pictures in the PBase site and liked them very much. I also go out for photography, small hike and treks and fish like a real nut around Thimphu and Paro and other places tooi. Im mad mad about painting and must have painted quite a great deal here in BHutan. I paint mostly landscape in oil water and Acrylic. My main intention to cantact you is to obtain permission from you to be able to paint some from your pictures. So please please let me know how to . THank you so much. SB

i have recently found a piece of artwork in my attick, a painting with (m. vinay) signed on the left bottom corner.. the picture is of batton rouge I believe... it is old and i was wondering if it was yours? please respond... erin

Thanks for your kind words about my gallery of the World Trade Center tragedy. It was quite by chance that I was on the roof of my house that morning. I was having a new roof put on, so I saw it all, but no matter how many pictures I took or saw, nothing can truly capture the shock and horror of that time.

You make me want to go back to film, Digital is nice but the colors and the details you have captured are very humbling. Do you scan and if so which scanner.
