A birder and bird bander (ringer) for many years, I needed a new outlet for my interest in birds and took up digital bird photography about 7 years ago. Living in the Australian island state of Tasmania, gives me close access to many different habitats, from beaches to mountains. Not blessed with the larger variety of bird species found on the Australian Mainland, Tasmania still has 12 endemic species to call its' own. All but one, the diminutive and endangered, Forty-spotted Pardalote, are commonly found around the state (in suitable habitats). So this site is more about birds than photography, but hopefully you will still enjoy the images. Your comments are always welcome.
