Hi there,

ahhhhhh, I just came accross your gallery images and have to tell you that your photos took me back on memory lane....I lived and studied in Seattle for over 5 years and now live in FL; I so agree with you: there is nothing like the Pacific Northwest! So whenever I'll get a little "homesick" I'll log onto your website!
Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you in your endeavors!

Thanks...and keep them coming - very inspiring!

Hi Christina,
Its a real treat to see your outstanding images. Particularly the Orkas and Marmots. Have visited the San Juan and Gulf islands 3 times but did not see a wild Orka yet. All the more reason to go again! Have voted and added you to my favorite list.
Thanks for showing the wildlife in your neck of the woods,

Hi Christina, I noticed you've changed over to the D200. I'm really interested to see how you get along with it. They are still as rare as hen's teeth over here, but am thinking of upgrading when they become more widely available. Hope you are enjoying your photography course, and I look forward to seeing more great images. All the best, Chris

Hi Christina.... nice shots. It's evident you've put a lot of time and effort into them. Welcome to Vancouver Island. I recently moved here myself from Ontario and have also discovered about a million beautiful things to photograph. I work as a newspaper photographer just up the road (my portfolio is www.pbase.com/tobygorman), but in my spare time like to get out to the great outdoors for nature photography. Keep up the good work.

It's great to see true talent at work. I especially enjoy how much you try to change things up all the time when you take photos of what you think looks good, not what you know has worked before. From wildlife, to portraits, to landscapes: good job.

Dear Chhistina:

I represent www.stockartphotos.com, a new and ambitious stock photography project, which aims at improving the services this market momentarily has to offer.

As I invite you to see, our website has a unique design concept and features which other similar sites do not offer. As the stock photography market is a very challenging place, our first steps will surely be the toughest.

Thus www.stockartphotos.com turns to you, an experienced photographer for much needed help. As we are sure our site has well-argumented reasons to grow rapidly into a valuable stock photography community, I am sure your effort will be rewarded pretty soon.

www.stockartphotos.com would appreciate it if you would grant us the benefit of trust by contributing to our stock image collection with some of your work.

With your help we hope to fulfill our target of raising the standards of stock photography.

Best regards,
Dan Fintescu

When you shoot film, how do you get such sharp photos on this site. You said you have a crappy scanner, but all photos are very sharp. What scanner do you have? I only have a film camera but can't figure out how is the best way to get my photos on line...scanner, develop on disc...I am totally a beginner. I love your photos. I notice some really clear film camera photos on pbase and some not so great ones...why is that? Is it the way people are putting them on line or is it the photographer? or is it the film? I learn from you and a guy on here named Guy Dube. I love both of your photos. Any advise you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Christina, I keep coming back to your galleries and am repeatedly amazed at how great your images are. The nature and wildlife shots are incredible. How do you manage to get so many shots of different animals? Do you live on a game farm or something?? Every time I try to take a picture of an animal (besides my roommate) it either runs away in horror or tries to eat me. For instance, I tried to approach a sleeping dog today to take a picture - by the time I set the aperture/shutter and focused, it woke up and nearly killed me. And then there were those birds a few weeks ago that tried to poke my eyes out... L.

Dear Christina,
I have taken my time to visit your galleries and I’m sincerely impressed by the quality of your pictures. I have book marked your page and I’ll enjoy your new pictures regularly. You take me over such a different, refreshing, colourful, wild world, with the leading role of nature and the elegant touch of some architecture.
You are talented and obviously your really love what you do, that, in my opinion, is a necessary element to be able to transmit also feeling by photography.
All your comments and remarks will be always welcome and I’ll be grateful to you for your help.
We have a totally different style in photography, so yours can be an inspiring element for me, to enlarge my horizon and do better.
Thank you

Hi Christina,
I had already been attracted by your Orca pics a few weeks ago.
Today I browsed many more of your galleries and loved a lot of your pics.
You're now part of my favorites list and I will surely come back regularly.
Thanks for sharing

I'm examining your galleries and having a ball. The bears are amazing! You have a spirit that survives, thrives and manifests all the way from the family album to bits and bytes on Pbase. Excellent life and work. I left a message under your "fish-eye lens" picture, but wanted to leave one here as well. Your pictures exhibit an aggressive embrace of all that is rich in life. Thanks - g

Hi Christina,

It's been a long time, but we both worked for Immigration in Ottawa many years ago. A friend recently forwarded me the link to your gallery and, when I clicked on it, I was shocked to see your picture and name. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and to welcome you to the West Coast.

Thanks for your comments regarding my San Diego photo album. I spent some time looking at your albums and your wildlife photos are incredible. I have never taken an interest into wildlife photography until I visited Yellowstone National Park last year. Thank you for sharing. By the way I updated by album and if you would like to visit:

Take care.

Christina, I just have one question regarding your visit to my photos. How did you come across them? The reason I am asking is because I have set up my photos for the PaD gallery and I have seen that some of the pictures from my other galleries are being selected for the random viewing and yet no body can see them in those views.
Cesar Augusto Castro Maldonado17-Mar-2005 23:41
Christina, thank you for your kind comments on my pictures. For any person specially for one who is just starting like me, those comments are a great motivation to continue improving. I saw your photos and now it makes me happier to know that a photographer of your caliber can have something nice to say about mine.
Thank you again.

Hi Christina,
I wanted to thank you for your comment on my gallery... Guadeloupe is only 3 hours from Canada (at least from the east side), you should try to get there one day. There is a part with a real wildlife in jungle which you shoudl like.
I'll take the time your galleries deserves to admire your pictures this week end
Very best regards

Hi Christina! I've been fortunate enough to have visited BC three times so far since summer 2000. During my visits I made it my 'second home'. BC became a part of me. The area of Vancouver and Nanaimo became pretty familiar to me and I also made a whale watching trip back in 2000. It was awesome. I have some galleries here which show pictures of the trips I made to the US and Canada. You might wanna check them uot! Thanks for sharing your galleries, they breath an atmosphere and capture BC as I remember it. Take care & greetings from Amsterdam, The Netherlands! - Menno

Hi, Thanks for your comments. I looked through your pictures and you have a lot of really nice shots. I especially like your ocean shots, which are very inspiring. I am spending most of my time in Stockholm city which is not really great for wildlife photos. But if with some patience you find a lot of animals. Swan and other sea birds come in for the ice free waters in the winter and sometimes you even see eagles right in town. Rabbits have invaded my part of town and I have also seen a fox feasting on them, but he is to cunning to be caught with a camera. Best regards Mark

Hi Christina. First of all thanks for the comments you left at my galleries. Secondly, I've been trying to trying to find your lens galleries for the past couple of days but they seemed to have disappeared. They now appear to have been buried somewhere you can't get to when you just browse from your root gallery. Only managed to see them when I looked at your recently updated gallery list. I really like the look of the 10.5mm DX Nikkor. I have the 12-24mm Nikkor which I'm very pleased with, but the 10.5 looks as if it gives a great angle of view and I didn't realise Nikon Capture can also apply the linear correction. Keep up the good work. Regards, Chris

Christina,

Tnanks for visiting my galleries and for leaving undeservedly high comment "consistently good". I consistently throw away A LOT. This helped me to discover your world and I have found a lot of beauty. I loved some of your landscapes around Vancouver and I imagine that they will be stunning in a bit larger format, like 800x600. I shall be definitely back for your other work

Cheers

Christina, as a former Victorian currently living in California, I've thoroughly enjoyed viewing your images from my hometown. My parents live in the Shoal Point area and seeing the pics of the grounds around the Parliment Buildings covered in snow made me homesick. I will continue to follow your project throughout the year. Christina, you paid me the courtesy of visiting my gallery, and I'm so glad that I returned the favour, your work is simply stunning. Its hard for me to pick a single favourite, I enjoy wildlife and landscape photography, both of which you do so well. I would have to say the Grizzy Bear and Orca shots were my winners, they took my breath away.
Best wishes to you, I will check in every once in a while to find inspiration.

Hey CC,

Your gallery is impressive. You've been very busy with your Nikon. I'll have to chat with you about the advantages of digital photography. I still use my old Olympus OM-1 from 1971....maybe it is time to upgrade ;)

I especialy like the bathing bears. How did you get those shots? There must be a story there.

Talk to you soon,

Lorraine.
